Belgian waffles
Perfect Belgian Waffles that are crisp on the outside and light and fluffy in the middle

Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 3-1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 2 large eggs, separated
- 1-1/2 cups whole milk
- 1 cup butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Directions
- Step 1
- In a bowl, combine flour, sugar and baking powder. In another bowl, lightly beat egg yolks.
- Step 2
- Add milk, butter and vanilla
- Step 3
- mix well.
- Step 4
- Stir into dry ingredients just until combined.
- Step 5
- Beat egg whites until stiff peaks form
- Step 6
- fold into batter.
- Step 7
- Bake in a preheated waffle iron according to manufacturer’s directions until golden brown.
- Step 8
- Serve with strawberries or syrup.
