Tantrums: why they happen and how to respond with calming presence

by Maria Ryabokon, Certified Parenting Coach, www.parentwithasmile.com

This talk is crafted to empower parents with the knowledge and confidence needed to support young children (ages 1-6) through intense emotions.

We’ll use the science of brain development and nervous system function to understand the underlying causes of tantrums. Parents will have the opportunity to reflect on their own reactions and thoughts to explore why witnessing tantrums can be challenging.

Finally, we’ll discuss a set of practical strategies designed to help you remain present and supportive when your child experiences BIG emotions.

About the speaker:

Maria is a Certified Coach specializing in Conscious and gentle parenting. She is helping parents find the courage and tools they need to build a fulfilling, nurturing and joyful relationship with their children.

Her diverse background helps her see everything from different perspectives. She was a breadwinner and a stay-at-home mom; she was burnt out from work and parenting; she supported preschool teachers and VPs of global organizations. Drawing from these rich experiences, Maria is now guiding parents on journeys of self-awareness, compassion, and unconditional love.
